Snuggles in the sunset - Litchfield Country Club

Intimate wedding at Litchfield Country Club in Pawleys Island

I’ve been photographing many more weddings recently at Litchfield Country Club in Pawleys Island. I had such a busy October this year, with seven weddings in just the first two weekends, two of which were at Litchfield County Club. It’s a great location with a beautiful area for the ceremony in front of some ancient oak trees and lots of foliage and greenery. I knew this would be a minimal, intimate wedding without a reception, and I was happy to have an early evening off with so many back-to-back weddings. I capture some of my favorite pictures with brides and …

Bride with her arms around the grooms neck Litchfield Country Club

Winter wedding at the Litchfield Country Club in Pawleys Island

This fun wedding at the Litchfield Country Club in Pawleys Island was a great way to start the 2019 wedding season! Even though it was early in March, the temperature was perfect. It was overcast for most of the day including during the ceremony. However, the sun poked out from the clouds just in time for some beautiful sunset shots of the couple on the golf course. The bride didn’t want a lot of getting ready shots so I arrived about 30 min before the ceremony. I still had time for a few pictures after she put on her dress …

Couple laying together in the sand - Litchfield Beach

Engagement pictures at the Litchfield Golf and Beach Club

I had the opportunity to do engagement pictures for this very nice couple staying at the Litchfield Golf and Beach Club. I’ve done weddings in this area before, but I’ve never been there for engagement pictures. I’m glad they suggested doing them there because it is a really pretty area. I knew some of the spots I liked out in front of the club from previous weddings, it’s always great when you can get some nice light coming through the leaves of oak trees. Using a really good lens blurs out the background sunlight in a really pretty way. The …

Highlights from the last few weeks and the importance of a good DJ

I haven’t made a wedding-specific blog post recently, and I’ve wanted to put up something new. I always get so busy in the summer. So I just decided to quickly pull out of my collection a few shots I liked from the last few weeks of August. These come from family beach pictures at the Myrtle Beach State Park, the mother of a bride I had last year getting married at the Grande Dunes Member’s Club, a wedding for a military groom at Brunswick Plantation in NC, and a wedding reception in Florence, SC. There is a lot in this one …

Bridal portraits at Pawleys Plantation and the Conway River Walk

I don’t typically do as many bridal portraits as other types of photography.  Many people prefer to do engagement pictures with me and do some bridal style pictures at the wedding.  But it’s always a lot of fun when I get to. This is one of the best kinds of photography you can do, a bride all dressed up for a wedding, without the stress and limited time of the wedding itself.  It’s pretty hard to go wrong as long as you have a pretty location to work with. I thought I would post just a few pictures from recent …

Wedding at Litchfield Plantation with a horse drawn carriage

This is the first wedding I’ve done at Litchfield Plantation.  It’s a very beautiful area. I always like the Litchfield / Pawleys Island area with all the moss-covered Oak trees.  It’s so pretty if you can get the light coming through the trees just right in the evening.  One of my favorite bridal portraits ever was down in this area.  Just in case you are not familiar, Litchfield is about 20 minutes south of Myrtle Beach, down business 17.  Many of the best spots, with beautiful trees, are away from the beach near the Intracoastal waterway.  I will post some …

Bridal portraits in Pawleys Island, SC

A couple of weeks ago I was able to do some very pretty bridal portraits for a bride getting married this weekend.  We set everything up on just a few weeks notice but I had the weekend open and was glad I was able to fit them in.  This is a pretty unique location in a private home area a bit south of Pawleys Island, SC which is about 30 minutes south of the Myrtle Beach area.  The wedding planner knew one of the residents in the area and they allowed us to do some pictures around their home as …

Wedding in Litchfield on the Waccamaw River

Last week’s wedding was at such a pretty spot. It was a private home on the river in the Litchfield, Pawleys Island area, about 30 minutes south of Myrtle Beach.  It’s too bad this isn’t a regular spot for weddings, although the homeowner said he has had about 20 weddings with various family and friends.  I can certainly see why.  Everything went nice as well. There was the most beautiful sunset over the waterway. You can see below that many of my favorite pictures feature that sunset.  The only slight problem was during the ceremony, the bride’s face was in …
