Groom dipping back bride in front of the ocean - Avista Resort - North Myrtle Beach

Small beachfront wedding at the Avista Resort in North Myrtle Beach

During my slow photography season I like to revisit some previous weddings I haven’t posted pictures from. I choose to highlight this wedding from April 6th, 2019 because it was my first time at the Avista Resort in North Myrtle Beach. This was small, simple destination wedding with just the bride, groom, their daughter and close family and friends. I arrived before the ceremony at the bride’s room on the top floor of the Avista Resort for getting ready pictures with the bridal party. I was also working with Balzotti Creative, a great videographer I work with frequently. You can …

Bride walking down the downtown street with bridesmaids - Charleston, SC

Wedding in downtown Charleston with a reception at the Daniel Island Club

Since it’s my slow time of the year, I’ve been updating my website, especially for some of my past weddings in Charleston. This beautiful wedding from back in 2013 needed an updated blog post. I added some ceremony pictures that were missing and made some extra adjustments as well. I looked at the photo metadata to see what equipment I used back then. These were all taken with a Nikon D3 and Nikon D800, and I’m still using the same Nikon 85mm f1.4 lens I used back then. So the main difference between my photography now and back then, my …

Dip back for a kiss with streetlights in the background and lit by my studio lights - Conway Riverwalk

One year anniversary and bridal portraits at the Conway Riverwalk

It seems like I’ve had a lot of weddings and photo sessions recently at the Conway Riverwalk. It’s a beautiful alternative location for pictures if you want to get away from the beach. This couple got married about a year ago back in their hometown, but due to weather and other circumstances they weren’t happy with the pictures from their wedding. So while they were on their anniversary vacation in Myrtle Beach, the bride wanted to put back on her wedding dress and take some bridal portraits, as well as some romantic pictures with her husband. As I mentioned in …

Bride and groom with clubhouse in the background - Members Club at Grande Dunes

Wedding for a pro bodybuilder and NFL player at the Grande Dunes Members Club

I was recently working on an example photo album for Vasilika, the catering manager at the Grande Dunes Members Club. Be sure to check the album out if visiting the Members Club to book a wedding. When looking for pictures I came across this wedding from a few years back. I miss posting pictures to my blog from many past weddings because I get so busy. This was a fun and unique wedding so I thought it deserved it’s own post! The bride was a retired professional bodybuilder and the groom was a retired NFL Player so they were a …

Very happy bride and groom leaving the ceremony - Doubletree Resort - Myrtle Beach

December wedding at the Hilton Doubletree Resort in Myrtle Beach

I had a great end to my photography season with two end of the year weddings on the 27th and 28th of December. It’s now time to catch up on any photo editing and wedding albums etc. I still have to finish. I will also be at the Wedding Showcase on Jan 25th at the Myrtle Beach convention center if anyone would like to meet me there. The next day we are traveling to my wife’s home country of Colombia for a couple of weeks. It’s a beautiful country, so hopefully I’ll get some great pictures and drone footage to …

Couple with beautiful waccamaw river in the background - Conway River Walk

Wedding at the new 104 Laurel Street event venue in Conway, SC

This is my first time doing a wedding at the newly renovated 104 Laurel Street event venue in Conway, SC. It’s located right near the south end of the Conway Riverwalk, very close to the old Peanut Warehouse. In fact, in this one weekend, I had a wedding at the Peanut Warehouse on Saturday, then on Sunday I had this wedding at 104 Laurel. For both weddings I took the couples down to the Riverwalk for some beautiful pictures. My thoughts on the 104 Laurel Street Event Venue 104 Laurel is a very pretty, rustic looking location for a wedding. …

Dip back for a kiss on the boardwalk - Conway River Walk

Wedding at the Peanut Warehouse with sunset pictures on the Conway Riverwalk

It’s been a number of years since I’ve photographed a wedding at the Peanut Warehouse in Conway, SC. They have done some remodeling and there are now a lot of hanging lights over the large ceremony area. I’ve always loved the rustic look of the warehouse, the way you can see sunlight filter through cracks in the old wood boards along the walls. It is also in a beautiful location, very close to the Conway Riverwalk and under the old Conway bridge next to the train tracks. It is a short walk for the family and wedding party to take …

Happy couple smiling at each other on the golf course - Dunes Golf and Beach Club - Myrtle Beach

Beautiful winter wedding for an older couple at the Dunes Golf & Beach Club

I had the privilege of photographing a recent wedding at the Dunes Golf and Beach Club in Myrtle Beach for one of it’s previous presidents. This couple was so extremely friendly, nice and relaxed about everything it made my job very easy. When I first arrived at the clubhouse, the bride’s children and grandchildren hadn’t yet arrived. We just chatted for a while and I went around and got detail pictures of the ballroom decorations. The beautiful flowers on the tables were by South Gate Design, and they also had the Tim Clark Band there for music. They are a …

Bride touching grooms face under the columns - 21 Main Events

Morning wedding in the courtyard at 21 Main Events – North Myrtle Beach

Wedding Preparations The courtyard at 21 Main Events in North Myrtle Beach is always a beautiful place for a wedding ceremony. This October wedding, with Kristal and Edgar, was a little unusual for me because it was held at 10am in the morning. I was a little worried about the strong sun during the ceremony and for the pictures after. We ended up having some clouds which helped during the ceremony. I also convinced Kristal and Edgar to come back that evening for sunset pictures with just the two of them. My wife was also with me at this wedding, …

Bride and groom kissing with blowing veil - Pelican Inn - Pawleys Island

Wedding at the Pawleys Island Chapel with a reception at the Pelican Inn

The Pelican Inn is a bed and breakfast built in the mid-1800s in the beautiful Pawleys Island, SC area. While the house itself is not very impressive looking from the outside, it’s in a perfect location between the salt marsh and beach, surrounded by old oak trees and greenery. It’s a unique spot, and I don’t know of any other wedding location in the area quite like it. The inside of the house has a very rustic look but is clean and air conditioned. The wedding decorations and guest’s tables are set up on the large porch surrounding the house, …
