The Pelican Inn is a bed and breakfast built in the mid-1800s in the beautiful Pawleys Island, SC area. While the house itself is not very impressive looking from the outside, it’s in a perfect location between the salt marsh and beach, surrounded by old oak trees and greenery. It’s a unique spot, and I don’t know of any other wedding location in the area quite like it. The inside of the house has a very rustic look but is clean and air conditioned. This bride and groom, Mary and Shane, had a beautiful wedding ceremony at the Pawleys Island Chapel with a reception at the Reserve Harbor Yacht Club. They also had their two daughters featured as flower girls in the wedding. I had my assistant head over to take pictures with the groomsmen, and I went to the home where the bride was getting ready on the inlet in Pawleys Island. Beautiful evening wedding at the Pawleys Island Chapel with reception in the Hammock Shops

I always love photographing weddings down near the inlet area of Pawleys Island. This wedding was small and relaxed without a large bridal party. The bride was getting ready at her parent’s home and the ceremony was at the small chapel on the marsh in Pawleys Island. The chapel is really lovely because the big windows overlooking the marsh let in a lot of soft light that hits the couple during the ceremony. The only problem is because it’s so much brighter outside than inside, it’s difficult to see the marsh through the windows in pictures. One of my favorite …
