Spring wedding with a beautiful sunset at Wildhorse at Parker Farms

I always love it when the family of my previous clients uses me for their wedding. I know I’m doing great when I get repeat clients or referrals from family and friends. This wedding was for the sister of a previous bride, who also had her wedding at Wildhorse at Parker Farms. I’m using my slow time to go back and highlight some weddings of the prior year, and this one was from last Spring of 2024. When I arrived, I checked in with the bride and bridesmaids, who were getting ready in the little separate cottage on the property. She had eight bridesmaids, a flower girl, and her toddler with her.

Following some hair and makeup shots, I hung her dress in the barn doorway to photograph it and took some other detail shots of the rings and flowers. I also took photos of the rustic decorations, like the cigar bar setup on a plank of wood and barrels and other table details. While the bridesmaids were getting dressed, I took the groom and groomsmen out for some pictures in front of the field. I hoped the wild horses would come out for some of these pictures. But we only saw them that day when the owner called them out during the ceremony.

You have to love the ring security for the ceremony. The little ring bearer was looking cool for his pictures with his sunglasses and badge. He was getting into the role. The ceremony itself was beautiful. They called over all the horses right before, so they were in the background of many of the pictures. The bride’s baby daughter was tugging at her dress during the ceremony, and I got a couple of cute shots of that. After the ceremony, we took some fun pictures of the big wedding party and some portraits of the bride by herself as well. Since it was still pretty early, we held off on the bride and groom portraits until after their introductions, dances, and dinner.

I always love going to the marsh behind the barn at Wildhorse at Parker Farms. There are many ancient trees sticking up from the water. While there are many newer farm venues that are higher-end and more elegant close to Myrtle Beach, I haven’t seen one with this unique look of the sunset filtering through the trees and reflecting off the water.

The only thing we missed out on during their pictures was the horses. I got some super cute pictures at her sister’s wedding and another previous wedding of them petting and surrounded by the wild horses. I’m unsure why the horses seemed to hide so much that day. But I still got a lot of beautiful pictures of the wedding couple. I always enjoy going to Wildhorse at Parker Farms for weddings. They always seem to have a Southern style, with relaxed and casual affairs. If you are planning a wedding here, please let me know. I would be happy to give you more information.
