I recently photographed another great wedding at Pawleys Plantation in Pawleys Island. As I’ve mentioned before, this is one of my favorite locations and I usually photograph a number of weddings here each year. The staff always does a great job with the organization, decorations, and catering, and things always go very smoothly. We had great weather for the wedding ceremony on the lawn behind the golf club. The only problem was the strong sun on the bride’s face during the ceremony. Thankfully, the groom was tall enough to give her some shade. I always like to shoot a couple of panoramas of the ceremony. I will place them first below because very wide pictures don’t work well in my normal gallery layout.
We got most of the family and bridal party pictures out of the way quickly after the ceremony. Then, about 30 min before sunset, I took the bride and groom back out for sunset pictures. It was getting late, and the couple wanted to return to dancing and having fun. We didn’t have time to ride out to other golf course locations like at previous weddings. But we did get some really great shots in front of the Pawleys Plantation clubhouse and out on the golf course. The golfers were nice and waited on us to take some pictures. They even got in one of the shots at the end.
The reception was a lot of fun. Tru Sol Band played for the group and did a great job. While the band was taking breaks, DJ Buff Entertainment took over and played popular music for dancing. I really liked the Soul Train style dance line that formed near the end. After everyone has been drinking for a few hours, the dancing always gets wild. Then they finished off the evening with a sparkler exit. I hope you enjoy the pictures, please like or comment if you do!
