Beautiful wedding at Upper Mill Plantation

I had a lot of fun photographing another recent wedding at Upper Mill Plantation in Bucksville, SC. This wedding’s bride was also a bridesmaid in a wedding I photographed a few months back. The bride from that wedding was a bridesmaid in this one as well, you can view her bridal portraits in a post here. Hopefully they weren’t too sick of me after shooting both of them in two weddings and in bridal portraits!

There are a lot of pretty spots at Upper Mill Plantation for wedding pictures. We started out doing portraits of the bridesmaids and groomsmen separately but ran short on time before the ceremony. After the wedding, we got a lot of nice shots of the bridal party, up by the lake at the entrance. The ceremony itself was held behind the plantation house on the bank of the Waccamaw River. The area where the bride, groom and wedding party stood during the ceremony had some really nice shade. The beautiful oak trees surrounding the ceremony made a fantastic background for the pictures.

After the ceremony we rode the golf carts up to the lake near the entrance with the moss covered oak trees. The sun was still a little high in the sky, but with the strong light filtering through the trees and reflecting off the lake we still got some fantastic shots. A little fill flash always helps with backlit shots like this. The bride and groom got a little too tired to make it to the barn and the horse area for pictures, but thankfully we already had a lot of cute pictures with the bride from her previous portraits in this area.

I hope you enjoy some of the pictures below. Please like or comment below if you do!
