Bridal portraits at Upper Mill Plantation in Bucksville

I had a lot of fun shooting bridal portraits at Upper Mill Plantation this past spring. This bride and groom just got married at the plantation on Saturday, so I’m now able to post some of these pictures. Upper Mill Plantation has a lot of pretty photography spots. We started out walking to the pond near the entrance to the area. This marsh area has lots of moss covered oak trees growing from water. The combination of the sunset reflecting off the water and the light filtering through the trees is a really beautiful backdrop for a bridal portrait.

Next we moved to doing some pictures by the long white fence surrounding the jumping obstacles for horses. We then did a few portraits by the old lumber mill chimney and on the dock by the Waccamaw River. I especially liked some of the shots where the bride was standing below me on the slope of the river bank. I was able to shoot her looking up with only the water in the background.

Finally, we went over to the barn for some portraits. The bride was able to pet the white horse that is always at the farm. He is very friendly and kept walking over and photobombing our pictures! He even tried to snack on the bride’s dress and flowers a couple of times. We even discovered there was a cute little pony in the barn at the end. I hope you enjoy the pictures, I had a lot of fun taking them. Keep up with my Facebook page and I’ll post some pictures of this couple’s wedding as I work on them.
