March is always busy time in Myrtle Beach for engagement pictures with couples getting married later in the year. I just wanted to post some quick pictures from two recent engagement session. To see more of my recent sessions follow me on Facebook and Instagram.
Pamela and Mike – Engagement pictures at Caledonia Golf & Fish Club
Pamela and Mike wanted a garden look to their engagement pictures with a lot of oak trees and moss. Their first thought was Brookgreen Gardens, however I explained the extra cost and suggested the Caledonia Golf & Fish Club as an alternative. Caledonia is great because they don’t charge a fee to take photographs in the area. They just like the photographer to check in at the pro shop and go over a few rules. For example you aren’t allowed to go on the actual golf course itself for pictures.
I was surprised how many flowers were already blooming in the area even at the beginning of March. We walked down along the entrance roadway and hit some of my favorite spots like the brick steps leading up onto the golf course, as well as some of the flowerbeds with the oak trees behind them. We even ventured a little further than I have in the past and I found a couple of new spots like a small garden and golf course entrance with some really interesting trees in the background.
Liza and Chris – Engagement pictures at Huntington Beach State Park
This next session is from Liza and Chris, they are getting married on May 2nd at Wachesaw Plantation, one of my favorite wedding locations. We had a cloudy day leading up to the session. Close to sunset time, the sun peaked out from behind the clouds and it ended up really pretty. This gave me an opportunity for dramatic shots with the sun right behind the couple. We also had some great colors in the sky over the ocean. One of my favorite pictures is the two of them laying in the sand together with the ocean and great colors of the sky in the background.
